MOBILE, AL (AP) — Marshall, with a 10-1 record and averaging 37 points a game heading into its Mid-American Conference championship game with Toledo Friday night, will play East Carolina of Conference USA in the GMAC Bowl on December 19.
East Carolina ended its season with a 6-5 record, including 5-2 in C-USA.

This is ECU's second trip to the GMAC Bowl. In the bowl's inaugural game in 1999, Texas Christian defeated the Pirates 28-14.

Senior quarterback David Garrard has led the Pirates to three straight bowl appearances. Last season, ECU overwhelmed Texas Tech 40-27 in Houston's galleryfurniture.com Bowl.
