PLAYERS OF THE WEEK* |
OFFENSE:
ECU's Shane Carden was named player of the week for the
third time this season after accounting for 6 touchdowns
in the Pirates' 65-59 double-overtime win over Marshall.
The sophomore QB ran for three scores and completed
38-of-47 passes for a school-record 439 yards and three
TDs with no interceptions as ECU clinched a share of the
East Division title. |
DEFENSE:
Southern Methodist senior LB Ja'Gared Davis had an
interception, a blocked punt and a fumble recovery in
the Mustangs' 35-27 upset win over West Division
champion Tulsa. |
SPECIAL TEAMS:
Rice junior KR Jeremy Eddington had 210 kick return
yards, including a 97-yard TD jaunt in the 4th quarter,
to help the Owls get by Texas-El Paso 33-24 and clinch a
bowl berth. |
