Senior guard James Legan
scored a game-high 24 points and sophomore point guard Brock Young
added 18 to lead East Carolina to an 86-65 victory over Campbell
Wednesday night in Greenville.
Senior guard Sam Hinnant
had 16 points and sophomore center Chad Wynn contributed 11 as the
Pirates notched their first win of the season over a Division I foe and
improved to 3-0 overall.
Junior forward Jonathan
Rodriguez paced Campbell (1-1) with 14 points. Junior guard Chad
Thompson and sophomore forward Preston Dodson each recorded 10 points
for the Fighting Camels.
East Carolina led 40-26 at
the half and didn't allow its advantage to slip below 12 during the
final frame.
The Pirates host George
Mason on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. The Patriots — 2-0 after defeating
Vermont and Brown — are set to play at Hampton tonight.
