East Carolina, which went on the road and defeated Cincinnati last Saturday to improve to 5-0 in the Conference USA title race, swept two of the league's three player-of-the-week awards.

Running back Leonard Henry, a Clinton senior, earned the offensive award, and Christshawn Gilliam, a junior linebacker from Lewiston, received the defensive honor after the Pirates hung on to beat the Bearcats, setting the stage for a nationally-televised Thursday night showdown (ESPN, 7:30 p.m.) with 5-0 Louisville for the league lead.

Cardinals' return specialist Anthony Floyd was named C-USA's Special Teams Player of the Week.

Here are summaries of the players' performances:

OFFENSE:

Leonard Henry, RB, East Carolina

Henry ran for a career-high 234 yards and scored three touchdowns in ECU's 28-26 win at Cincinnati. The yardage came on just 18 carries as he pushed his nation-leading yards per carry average to 8.7. Henry tallied his seventh game this season with 100 or more yards as he moved into second place on East Carolina's career rushing list.

DEFENSE:

Christshawn Gilliam, LB, East Carolina

Gilliam had two crucial defensive plays in the Pirates win at Cincinnati. With the Bearcats attempting an option run on a two-point conversion that would have tied the game with 45 seconds remaining, Gilliam made a tackle that kept the runner out of the end zone. Earlier in the game, he intercepted a Cincinnati pass at the ECU 3 to thwart a potential scoring drive.

SPECIAL TEAMS:

Anthony Floyd, PR, Louisville

Floyd returned a punt 52 yards for a touchdown early in the second quarter to break open a 10-7 game and ignite a decisive 24-0 run by the Cardinals in their win over Houston.
