race comes down to final day

Houston, Louisville and Texas Christian are all within
grasp of the regular season title, or a share of it, as Conference USA's
jam-packed, neck-and-neck chase nears its conclusion.
The Cougars (20-7) and Horned Frogs (19-9) have a
doubleheader on the agenda today after yesterday's game between the
teams was rained out. Houston can wrap up the crown with a win in either
game.
U of L (20-9), which was overcome by a
seventh-inning East Carolina rally in a
Friday loss to the Pirates, will need a double dose of good fortune — a
win tonight over ECU and a TCU sweep of Houston — to tie Kermit's
cousins for the top spot.
Meanwhile, Cincinnati and Saint Louis — also sidelined
Friday by rain — will play a do-or-die doubleheader today that will
decide which one earns the eighth and final bid to the C-USA Tournament
at Kinston's Grainger Stadium.
