What Pirate Fans witnessed on Saturday afternoon was the most important
win in school history. To say the Pirates have been down the last couple of
years is the understatement of the decade, but what Skip Holtz has brought
to this program is hope and he has instilled a belief in these players that
they can work hard and win.
Remember other than a few exceptions this is the same team from last year
and there is the elephant in the room. We had to be competitive and beat an
ACC team. It was for credibility in this region of the country. I think we
will be competitive all year. I don't know what the Pirates' final record
will be, but I have a good feeling about this program and the smiles on the
players' faces are good to see heck even the cheerleaders were prettier
(Saturday).
Thank God for Skip Holtz and good luck to my team the Purple and Gold. I
would love to hear "You Can Paint This One Purple" several more times this
year. I should not use the word Bowl Game yet but with the new attitude and
new life breathed into this program it won't be too long off, if not this
year.
