Forsaken Pirate: The End of a Dream

Despite the Pain, Ed Emory
Forever Bleeds Pirate Purple

For Ed Emory, the years since his abrupt dismissal as East Carolina University’s head football coach have been painful, less because of the foggy details surrounding the firing, but more because of the perceptions that the events created about him as a person and as a Pirate... More...

Richard Moton: Sudden Impact?
Richard Moton has a quiet confidence. Perhaps it is a byproduct of life in the Midwest or maybe it is just that he knows what is expected of him and that he can deliver it... Moton knows he is stepping up in competition and he knows that at 6-4, with 4.5 speed, he will be expected to come right in and play. He also knows that the microscope is clearly focused on East Carolina's defensive backfield... More...
Spotlight looms for 'Mr. Football'
To suggest that he is the perfect symbol of Pirate football — the one player who can link the program to its past, present, and future — wouldn't be a stretch of the imagination. He would just as soon be viewed as just another member of the team, but it is Paul Troth's time to be the program's cover boy — a role he seemed destined for since the day he first held the pigskin... 'Shank' approach wins trenches
In the grand scheme of things, the recruiting visit by an all-state offensive lineman from Georgia was little more than another talented athlete making one of a string of visits to a courting school. But details of this particular visit are insightfully revealing about one program's approach to adding new ingredients to a hallowed recipe... More...
Does cyber-gossip matter?
Internet message boards get wild and wooly during recruiting season. The action gets heated enough that some participants — suspecting that prospective recruits themselves may be reading the threads — plead for discretion. A question answered about Bonesville.net The Magazine

From time to time, Bonesville.net carries feature stories which previously appeared in print in the Pirates' Chest. This is done in accordance with a content-sharing arrangement we have with Moore Productions, Inc., the Pirate Club periodical's publisher.

This practice has prompted a question among some of our readers as to whether the content that will be in the forthcoming Bonesville.net The Magazine will also appear on this web site after the magazine is published.

The answer is: "Not for free."

It is possible that some or all of the features from the magazine, which will be about 100 pages long, will eventually be placed on the site — but with access available on a subscription basis only. The price of that subscription will be equal to or greater than the price of the magazine itself.

We hope that answers the question.  ———  Editor
