Carolina pitcher Will Brinson fires away during the
Pirates' 3-2 win over Charlotte Sunday at Phillips
Field. Brinson, a junior from Greenville, scattered nine hits, but gave
up only an unearned run in five innings to earn his third victory of the
season. Freshman Greg Bunn picked up the save, slamming the door shut on
the 49ers for the final five outs. The pivotal Conference USA win gave
the Pirates the edge in the weekend series, 2-1. |
