GREENVILLE — Any thoughts that an unheralded Division II visitor to Minges Coliseum might catch East Carolina off guard three days after one of the Pirates' biggest wins ever were quickly dispelled Thursday night.

With the school's students still away on Christmas vacation, Erroyl Bing scored 14 points and Jonathan Moore added 13 as East Carolina beat cold-shooting UNC-Pembroke 93-47 in front of a surprisingly substantial turnout in Williams Arena of 4,285 fans.

The Pirates (10-2), fresh off Monday's home upset of No. 13 Marquette, controlled the game with the Division II Braves from the start. Pembroke (0-9) was held to 5-of-23 shooting in the first half as East Carolina rolled to a 47-13 lead.

Belton Rivers and Devin Boddie each had 10 points for the Pirates while Bing grabbed nine rebounds.

East Carolina out-rebounded Pembroke 45-24 and caused 21 turnovers.

Travis Wallace scored 16 points and recorded 10 rebounds while Greg Joyner added 13 points to lead the Braves.

The Pirates next play Jan. 12 against Charlotte to begin the brunt of their Conference USA schedule.
