Michigan pitcher Jeff Niemiec fires a pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning that East Carolina batter Mark Minicozzi (12) would slap through the left side of the infield for a single to drive in Billy Richardson (2) from third base. The run would hold up as the game-winner in the Pirates' 2-1 victory on Friday, March 4, 2005. Drew Costanzo is the ECU runner on first base. The game was the opener of the Keith LeClair Classic and the first in the Pirates' new Clark-LeClair Stadium. Other teams in the three-day invitational event were Georgia, Ohio State, North Carolina and Arizona State. (Photo: ©Bonesville.net)
