East Carolina named Clemson recruiting coordinator and wide
receivers coach Rick Stockstill its offensive
coordinator
on Wednesday, completing the staff of new head coach John Thompson.
Thompson made the announcement at the Raleigh Sports Club
simultaneous with a release from ECU's sports information office.
Stockstill played quarterback and captained the 1981
football team at Florida State and has been on the staff for 14 years at
Clemson, where he has been exposed to a wide variety of offenfsive attacks
under four Tigers coaches.
Thompson indicated he was looking for a vertical passing
game and power running style during the search for an offensive coordinator.
"The coaches I've known who have been at East Carolina have
all said Greenville is a great place to raise a family," said Stockstill,
who has a son, 8, and a daughter, 6. |
