Defensive Player of the Week: Southern Methodist junior DB Kenneth Acker had two interceptions and scored two touchdowns in the Mustangs' 52-0 rout of Stephen F. Austin.
Offensive Player of the Week: Houston sophomore QB David Piland set an NCAA record for attempts in a game without an interception, completing 53-of-77 for for 580 yards and four TDs in the Cougars' 56-49 loss to Louisiana Tech.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Rice junior K Chris Boswell booted four field goals, including the decisive one as time expired, in a 25-24 victory over Kansas, the Owls' first win over a Big 12 school.
