Senior guard Shamarr
Bowden and junior guard Akeem Richmond spearheaded a long-range barrage
with five threes apiece to help East Carolina sail to a 111-59 victory
over NAIA foe St. Andrews Tuesday night in Greenville.
Bowden was a perfect
5-of-5 on 3-point tries as ECU improved to 6-1 against the 0-9 Knights.
Sophomore guard Paris
Roberts-Campbell and senior guard Corvonn Gaines each recorded three
treys and the Pirates collectively converted a school-record 18 buckets
on 36 shots from behind the arc.
Bowden and Richmond each
finished with 15 points in limited playing time. Bowden put in 12
minutes on the court, while Richmond logged 19 minutes.
Roberts-Campbell tallied
11 points in 20 minutes as a total of 15 ECU players saw action.
Junior guard Clavontae
Brown scored a game-high 18 points and senior forward Demetrius Monroe
added 14 to lead St. Andrews.
East Carolina never
trailed and bolted to a 64-30 halftime lead.
The Pirates outscored the
Knights 54-9 on 3-pointers and won the rebounding battle 51-35.
ECU will take a break for
exams before returning to action at North Carolina in a noon game on
Saturday, Dec. 15. ESPNU is set to televise the contest.
