GREENVILLE East Carolina hadn't played VMI in 36 years and the Pirates had not scored 100 points against a Division I opponent since a 104-92 win over UNC-Greensboro on Dec. 28, 2000.

ECU outscored the Keydets 103-94 on Thursday night in Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum to end both streaks.

Six players reached double figures for the Pirates, who improved to 10-2 going into a noon tipoff at N.C. State on Saturday. Freshman Caleb White led the way with 24 points.

"I'm glad we weren't looking ahead to the game on Saturday," said Pirates coach Jeff Lebo.
