Sai'Quon Stone and Jeremy Wise each hit two free throws in the final 17.6 seconds as Southern Miss rallied from a 14-point second-half deficit to defeat visiting Tulsa, 70-65, in Conference USA play on Saturday afternoon.

Wise had 24 points and Stone scored 18. The duo accounted for 31 of the Golden Eagles' 44 second-half points as Southern Miss came back after trailing 43-29 with 17 minutes to play.

The win assured the Golden Eagles (15-8, 5-5 C-USA) a non-losing season for the first time since 2000-01.

Southern Miss plays East Carolina in Greenville at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night. The Golden Eagles defeated ECU 83-72 on Jan. 24 in Hattiesburg, MS, despite 25 points by Pirates junior guard Darrell Jenkins.

Jenkins scored a career high 31 for ECU (5-18, 0-10) in an 83-59 loss at Houston on Saturday night.

West Virginia got 18 points from Alex Ruoff and 14 from Frank Young to upset second-ranked UCLA 70-65 on Saturday at the WVU Coliseum.

The Bruins were the highest-ranked team West Virginia has beaten since the Mountaineers knocked off No. 1 UNLV 87-78 in Morgantown on Feb. 27, 1983. Coach John Beilein has won 17 times against ranked teams at West Virginia, including twice this season.

West Virginia (19-5) got a key contribution after Ruoff sat down with his third foul. Walk-on guard Ted Talkington hit two clutch baskets, including a three-pointer from the corner.

Derek Raivio and Matt Bouldin each scored 12 points as Gonzaga, playing without suspended forward and second-leading scorer Josh Heytvelt, beat Saint Mary's 60-49 Saturday to remain tied atop the West Coast Conference.

Heytvelt and freshman Theo Davis had been suspended before the game after their arrests Friday night on drug possession charges in nearby Cheney.
