East Carolina has gained the pledge of another commitment for the football recruiting class of 2003 from an athletic signal caller who has the skills and physical tools to play more than one position. Here is the thumbnail on Deon Adams: Deon Adams (6-1, 190) WR/QB, Smith High, Greensboro, N.C. ... Projects as a receiver for the Pirates, the role he has played his previous three seasons on the high school level. ... Currently playing quarterback for his prep team but still runs routes in practice to be a complete player. ... Attended ECU football camp this summer. ... Reportedly threw for 431 yards and ran for 168 in his team’s 2002 season opener. ... The eighth known commitment to the Pirates, jumping in the boat in early September. The NCAA's official signing date for next year's recruits is in February.
