PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*

OFFENSE: Southern Miss freshman quarterback Nick Mullens and North Texas senior running back Brandin Byrd share the offensive award. Mullen ran for a score and tied a school record with five touchdown passes in the Golden Eagles' 62-27 triumph at UAB. Byrd rushed for three touchdowns and 251 yards in the Mean Green's 42-10 win at Tulsa.

DEFENSE: Marshall freshman defensive lineman Gary Thompson was recognized for his defensive play after recording two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown in a 59-39 victory over East Carolina.

SPECIAL TEAMS: The special teams honor went to North Texas junior wide receiver/special teams player Mike Marshall, who became the first player in school history to block two kicks in a single game in the win over Tulsa.
