NEW ORLEANS — Mewelde Moore, Tulane's record-setting running back, will be honored with a special recognition during halftime of the Green Wave's game today with East Carolina in the Louisiana Superdome.

The Baton Rouge senior, Tulane's all-time leading rusher and all-purpose yardage leader, owns 24 school records and will also be honored prior to Saturday's game along with the 10 other members of Tulane's 2003 senior class.

The separate halftime ceremony to honor Moore will include video highlights, the unfurling of a movable banner bearing his name and number, and a presentation to the Baton Rouge senior.

Kickoff for the game, which will be the Wave's season finale, is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET.

Moore was on his way to a school-record third 1,000-yard season when he suffered a broken left hand in the Navy game November 1st. He underwent surgery on the hand November 11th and was sidelined for the last three games of the season.

Moore joined Stanford's Darrin Nelson as the only players in NCAA Division I-A history to gain 4,000 rushing and 2,000 receiving yards during their collegiate careers. He finished with 4,364 rushing and 2,059 receiving yards for a total of 6,505 all-purpose yards, achieving a ranking of 11th on the all-time all-purpose yardage list for Division I-A.
