Slive's contract with SEC extended until 2009
BIRMINGHAM — The Southeastern
Conference extended the contract of commissioner Mike Slive, a deal that
could keep him in charge of one of the most influential and lucrative
leagues in college sports until the middle of 2009.
Slive replaced Roy Kramer as SEC
commissioner in 2002 after serving as Conference USA commissioner for seven
years.
The contract extension was approved
recently by the SEC Board of Presidents and announced Thursday.
