DURHAM — East Carolina first
baseman/third baseman Darryl Lawhorn has been named to the Midseason
All-America freshman team by Baseball America.
The Wilmington native leads
all freshmen in home runs and ranks second in batting.
Lawhorn made the team as a
designated hitter and was joined on the freshman honors list by another
Conference USA player, South Florida catcher Devin Ivany.
Two players from C-USA member
Houston received mid-season accolades from Baseball America.
Shortstop/pitcher Jesse Crain was named the nation's best two-way
player, while pitcher Brad Sullivan joined Crain as a member of the
Midseason All-America junior team.
