Lawhorn makes mid-season All-America team

USF's Ivany, Houston's Crain and Sullivan also honored

DURHAM — East Carolina first baseman/third baseman Darryl Lawhorn has been named to the Midseason All-America freshman team by Baseball America.

The Wilmington native leads all freshmen in home runs and ranks second in batting.

Lawhorn made the team as a designated hitter and was joined on the freshman honors list by another Conference USA player, South Florida catcher Devin Ivany.

Two players from C-USA member Houston received mid-season accolades from Baseball America. Shortstop/pitcher Jesse Crain was named the nation's best two-way player, while pitcher Brad Sullivan joined Crain as a member of the Midseason All-America junior team.
