ECU's Narron recognized
as
league's top scholar athlete From ECU reports

GREENVILLE Ace hurler Sam Narron is the
recipient of a key Conference USA award for deeds both on and off the mound.
Narron, the lead man in East Carolina's
pitching rotation, has been named the 2002 C-USA Baseball Scholar Athlete of
Year.
The award is bases on academic
accomplishments (GPA) as well as athletic achievements and community
service.
Narron, a junior, has maintained a 3.75
grade point average as a biology major.
Named second-team All-Conference USA, the
Goldsboro left-hander has compiled a 7-3 record this season with a 3.10 ERA.
Narron has contributed community service
work to the children's hospital and has been involved with ALS fundraisers.
