GREENVILLE — Luke Mackay, a native of Perth, Australia, has signed a national letter-of-intent to play basketball at East Carolina University.

Mackay, a 6-4, 195-pound shooting guard, played the last two seasons at Lon Morris Junior College in Jacksonville, TX. He missed most of the 2001-02 season with a broken wrist, but averaged 15 points per game as freshman.

"Luke is very skilled and can play of couple of different positions on the perimeter," said Pirate head coach Bill Herrion. "I think we are getting a complete basketball player."

Mackay joins a recruiting class which also includes Kinston High School's Corey Rouse, a 6-8, 190-lb forward, and Belton Rivers, a 6-3, 185-lb combo guard from Atlanta's Douglass High School.
