ECU
women's hoops getting tube time, too
Conference USA has announced that a
total of 10 women's basketball games will be televised nationally or
regionally during the 2006-07 season as part of the league's television
package with ESPN and CSTV. Included will be four contests on ESPN2 and a
six-game package on CSTV.
Tulsa, Rice, SMU, Tulane and East
Carolina will each have at least two games televised, while UAB, Marshall,
Houston and Southern Miss will each have one game televised.
After CSTV kicks off its national
coverage with Tulane hosting Rice on Sunday, Jan. 7, Conference USA doubles
up on Jan. 14 and Jan. 21 with games on both CSTV and ESPN2. The Jan. 14
matchups will be UAB at Southern Miss for a 2 p.m. tip on CSTV, followed by
a 4 p.m. game between Tulane and SMU on ESPN2.
Sunday, Jan. 21, features another
doubleheader involving the two networks as SMU travels to Tulsa for a 1 p.m.
game on CSTV and Houston drives across town to meet Rice for a 3 p.m. tip on
ESPN2.
East Carolina makes its first of two
television appearance on Jan. 28 on CSTV, when the Pirates travel to
Marshall for a 3 p.m. start time. ECU then travels to Tulsa for an ESPN2
game on Feb. 11.
CSTV will carry the two semifinal games
of the 2007 C-USA women's basketball tournament, while ESPN2 will carry the
championship game on March 4.
C-USA is entering its second season of
a six-year deal with CSTV. CSTV, which has agreements with distributors that
serve more than 65 million households nationwide, says it expects its
programming to soon be available on cable in all Conference USA markets.
East Carolina baseball to host winter camp
The 2006 East Carolina baseball winter
camp is designed to prepare participants for the opportunity to play
baseball at the collegiate level, according to an ECU athletic media

camp will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 16, and from 9 a.m. to 3

The camp is also designed for parents
who wish to learn the processes involved with preparing a player to play
baseball in college. A seminar for the parents in attendance will be held in
the club level of Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday,
Dec. 16th.
The cost of camp is $225 for players
